Hey pals!
Glad to be back posting. Great news! Exactly one year from the day I left Japan -- February 3 -- I will fly away to Istanbul, Turkey for my next teaching abroad experience. I will most certainly be sad to leave this fantastic life in Austin I have built for myself. I've met some awesome people and started doing improv and really exploring the city I grew up in. But, alas, I must travel on.
I think I'll be living in Kadikoy, which is on the Asian side of the city. This time I'll be teaching through a company called Teachers in Turkey (who would'a thunk, right?) who placed me at an IB elementary school where I'll teach and have so much fun with some kindergarteners (anyone else feel like it should be spelled kindergarden? - I mean I know it's a German word and garten means garden, but the d looks better to me).
I'll start my real posting when I get over there, but just thought I'd give the first 2015 update to mark the turning point in the blog to focus on Turkey instead of Japan.
I've also been playing with the idea of keeping a vlog. We'll see though. It may be too much work.
